SMALL BUSINESS MAKING BIG IMPACT – MAXgreen Windows, Siding and Roofing through their "MAXcommunity by MAXgreen" Fund Engages Customers in Local Giving Campaign

maxCOMMUNITY FundApril 25, 2016 - Calgary, AB – While some businesses are cutting their community investments and philanthropy during this economic downturn, others, like MAXgreen are continuing their investment into organizations that make our city and society a better place to live.

Adam Jones the founder and CEO has built his window, siding and roofing company – MAXgreen with community and family at its core.  Since its inception, he has made the conscious decision to direct a portion of every window, door, roofing, or siding project replaced to charity as well as to plant trees for every project completed.

To date over $115,000 has been directed to local charities ranging from the children’s organizations to animal shelters.  This year is no different, even in a down economy when people are delaying their spending, MAXgreen is donating $10,000 to three different charities – Brown Bagging for Calgary’s Kids, Kids Cancer Care Foundation and Kids Up Front, which included a social media campaign garnering $2,000 of those funds towards those charities.

In addition to MAXgreen’s corporate contribution, their clients also got involved and through their generosity fifty additional charities across Canada will receive funding this year.

"We believe that all businesses, no matter the size, should feel a duty to give back to their community and the planet. We started with a small idea to give back $10 per window and door, and that has now evolved into over $115,000 in donations and 5,000 trees planted. This allows the charitable organizations that specialize in their field to make the most possible impact, while we focus on what we do best - LEAK-PROOF Homes. For example, for every dollar BB4CK receives they are able to make and deliver a lunch to a child! Everyday 3200 children are fed by BB4CK, and I am very proud that our donation will cover a day’s worth of those meals."

Since 2002, Gena Rotstein has been advising individuals, families and family-owned business on their philanthropy.  “Adam and his company are a great local business that ‘just get it.’” Says Gena Rotstein, Philanthropy Advisor, “It’s a pleasure to work with a business that shows how you can make money and do good at the same time.”

The funds raised by MAXgreen are held at the Place2Give Foundation in the maxCOMMUNITY Fund.

The media and special guests are invited to the cheque presentation on Thursday, April 27th – 9:00am at the MAXgreen office - 123, 4999 - 43rd Street SE.

Tanya Koshowski, Executive Director of Brown Bagging for Calgary’s Kids says “Everyone can take action to make our city a better place to live by ensuring every child is fed and cared for. BB4CK is grateful for the support of MaxGreen’s generous donation and volunteer support. MaxGreen’s community initiatives make a difference in the lives of Calgarians, and their support helps ensure every kid in our city has enough to eat at school.”
