Where to Give on Giving Tuesday?

There's a movement afoot to contrast Black Friday and Cyber Monday.  It's called Giving Tuesday

The call to action?

  • Take your Black Friday savings and donate this amount to a charity of your choice through platforms like Place2Give.
  • Opt out of Cyber Monday and instead by e-GiftCards that direct the recipient to donate to charities like through UEnd or ChimpFund.
  • Instead of doing a traditional corproate gift to your clients, vedors and suppliers, make a donation to a charity that best reflects your corporate brand and share that story in a "snail mail" card that you send out.
  • Redirect your holiday gifting altogether and engage your social network in a variety of causes by tapping into the community-based umbrella organizations in your network.  New platforms like Givyup are enabling you to do just that.

Whatever you decide to do, Giving Tuesday is slowly creeping up on Black Friday and it will continue to gather momentum as our communities and societies begin to really look at "what most needs doing," rather than "what most needs having."

So go out there - have fun and tell us how you spent your Giving Tuesday money!  See that this time of year isn't about the one-off donation and the warm socks that your grandma gave you, it's about connecting with people on a level that encourages sustainable growth and meaningful dialogue.
